Got Questions? We Have Answers

Does Novelance only do new NetSuite implementations?

No. About half of our engagements are net-new NetSuite implementations and about half are optimization, rescue, customization, integration, or managed support work for clients already on the platform. We are often brought in after a previous implementation has stalled, gone over budget, or failed to deliver the original business case.

Can Novelance work alongside our existing internal NetSuite admin?

Yes. We frequently partner with internal NetSuite administrators and finance system teams. A capable internal admin makes implementations and optimizations measurably more successful, and we structure engagements to build internal capability rather than replace it.

Do you provide fixed-fee or time-and-materials pricing?

Both, depending on the engagement. Implementations and well-scoped customization projects are usually fixed fee against a detailed Solution Design Document. Optimization, integration, and managed support work is often time-and-materials against a defined service level.

Can you help me negotiate my NetSuite license and avoid over-licensing?

Yes, we help our customers to negotiate betterpricing on renewals, advise on user licensing and cancellations of modules thatdon’t add value.

How do you handle change requests during a project?

Every project has a documented change control process. New requirements identified during discovery or build are logged, scoped, and either incorporated into the current phase or deferred to a follow-on phase. This is how we avoid scope creep, which industry analysts consistently identify as the leading reason NetSuite projects go over budget.

Who owns the custom code/IP you build?

Everything we build in your NetSuite instance belongs to you. You have complete ownership of the Intellectual Property (IP),Custom Code and Documentation of all the solutions we build in your NetSuite environment.

Will Novelance customize NetSuite extensively if we ask?

Only where it is the right answer. Over-customization is one of the most common, most expensive mistakes in NetSuite. We will push back when a customization request would be better solved by a process change or by using native NetSuite functionality. That posture is a feature, not a bug.

What happens if the project goes over budget or scope?

We regularly monitor project progress and have weekly status meetings with our customers. For projects with clear and precise scope, our estimates are highly accurate. When customers request an update to the scope, we provide an estimate of its impact on the budget and only implement them with customer approval.

Does Novelance accept fixed deadlines?

We accept fixed deadlines when they are realistic for the scope. We do not accept fixed deadlines for projects whose scope would require shortcuts in discovery, data migration, testing, or training to hit them.

Do you offer ongoing NetSuite support after Go-live?

Yes, with most of our customers, we continue ongoing support after the Go-live. Well implemented NetSuite lays a foundation for business growth and provides opportunities for continuous improvement and automation. We have a long-term view of our partnerships and are thrilled to contribute to our customers’ continuous success.
